Switchbacks and Caves - Wildwood Hike

While Andrea was off drinking mimosas with the girls(late birthday brunch), Mack, Zeke, Bo, Alex, and I went for a hike in Wildwood Park.

Setting Off

Climbing towards the switchbacks up the bluff.

Mack taking the lead up the switchback portion of the Santa Rosa trail.

Typically too cool for hiking, Zeke seemed to enjoy the day.

The "Little General" giving the marching orders. Mack is having none of it.

On the way down to the Indian Cave.

Zeke and Alex.

Finally, the cave.

Bo leading the way into the mouth of the Indian Cave.

Devil or Angel? Maybe a little of both.

As the boys were crossing the Troll Bridge, Mack's keen eyes spotted a 3 foot gopher snake down below.

Hiking back out of the valley, Bodie stopped to perch on a fence.

Hiking out.

Overall, the boys were well behaved. However, on the hike out they began to sing a song(read: screaming at the top of their lungs) to taunt a family with youngsters ahead of us. The song:

A,B,C,D,E,F,G,
Barney is my enemy,
Stick a rifle up his nose,
Pull the trigger, there he goes,
A,B,C,D,E,F,G,
Barney is my enemy.

The family ahead of us looked back, alarmed, and quickened their pace.
