Dallas Cowboys Camp in Oxnard

Mack, Zeke and I traveled 30 miles up the coast to check in on the evil, no good, Dallas Cowboys. On and off over the last three decades, they have held training camp in the area. A couple of guys I played football with are on their coaching staff, Jason and John Garrett.

Then onto the fun stuff. They had this cool harness-bungee thing, that Mack and Zeke strapped on, and then stretched out, in an effort to score a touchdown. Below, Mack gets into the endzone, then the bungee takes over.

Mack bet me that he could make three field goals in a row. The bet was: I would give him $1 if he made all three, and if he missed one or more, he would have to do the dishes all weekend. He was perfect on the first kick, but then I started to use Jedi mind tricks on him...you know, telling him how embarrassing it would be to miss such an easy kick in front of so many people, etc. Then, right before his second kick, a stranger called a timeout to "ice" him. It worked because he shanked it.

Yep, those are the Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl trophies(5 including the painful one against the Steelers in 1996). The Steelers have six of those, but who is really counting?

We then headed south to Neptunes Net and ate fried seafood until we were sick.

Hurricane Harbor

Back in July, Bo, his buddy, Ashton, Andrea and I went to Hurricane Harbor for some water slide action. Bo and Ashton are pretty inseparable. They've been known to spend 12 hours together one day, then be waiting for each other at 7:00 AM the next morning.

Bodie's 7th Birthday Extravaganza

Bodie enjoyed a late birthday celebration...we thought we would wait for Mack and Zeke to come home because they always miss it. The "bouncy" theme was Batman.
