In early December, we took a family vacation to Maui. I flew into Waikiki early for business, then island hopped to Maui for a week of snorkeling, body surfing, and zip lining. There was some eating and drinking too.
This was my view in Waikiki. Overall, it was a bit touristy for me, but the waves on the second and third reefs seemed to roll forever.
Good-bye Honolulu/Waikiki!
The window I had was a bit scraped up, but that's Diamond Head below.
A bit windy in Maui. The descent on the plane was loads of fun.
After hooking up with the family at the airport in Maui, we headed off to get some grub in a little town called Pai'a. We ate at a "dive" seafood place called Mama's Fish House. Mack and Zeke ordered the special of the day, Lobster and Crab Stuffed Mahi-Mahi for $58.00./ea. I'm crapping you negative. The three pics below were taken at the beach in front of the restaurant.
First morning views from our condo: Molikin Crater with the sun coming up behind us.
We took a drive to southern Maui to see the lava fields. Got out at Le Perouse Bay to take in the scenery.
The water was so beautiful that Zeke jumped in for a swim.
Driving through the lava fields. Looked alien.
We spent most of our time at the beaches. We had two, a small cove to the left, and a much larger one to the right. We switched back and forth, and often snorkeled from one to the other.
Just another Maui sunset.
